16Mo3 flanges consist of a chromium-molybdenum steel alloy, consisting mainly of 0.16% carbon, 0.30% silicon, 0.50% manganese, 0.30% molybdenum and minor amounts of phosphorus, sulfur and other impurities. The mechanical properties of the alloy are high tensile strength (450-600 MPa), yield strength (275-355 MPa), and good elongation (20-22%). It has very good resistance to heat and pressure, which makes it suitable for applications at high temperatures. Physically, 16Mo3 flanges possess a density of 7.8 g/cm³ with a melting point of approximately 1,400°C, promising better performance for power plants and industrial processes.
