Alloy 20 flanges contain primarily nickel (32–38%), chromium (19–21%), iron (balance), molybdenum (2–3%) and copper (3–4%) additions along with columbium for stabilization. Alloy 20 flanges possess excellent mechanical properties, like tensile strength of about 551 MPa, yield strength of 241 MPa, and elongation of 30%. Alloy 20 is physically characterized by its density of 8.1 g/cm³, melting range of 1357–1430°C and good heat conductivity. Its greater corrosion resistance, especially to sulfuric acid, makes it an ideal candidate for aggressive chemical process uses.
