Copper nickel plate flanges (CuNi) generally consist of 90% copper and 10% nickel with trace levels of iron and manganese. This alloy provides good corrosion resistance particularly under marine conditions. Mechanical properties are good tensile strength (approximately 350 MPa) yield strength (approximately 180 MPa), and approximately 40% elongation. Thermal and electrical conductivity are also good in CuNi plate flanges. Properties include seawater resistance, ease of fabrication and high strength at low and high temperatures, making it suitable for chemical, marine and offshore use.
